It all started freshman year of college when…
Cody asked Dominique to go for a smoothie. She said yes of course, because who would pass up a smoothie. And that was history, we were together forever…
There is an earlier beginning to this story that begins in Ithaca, NY on a ropes course, but only Cody remembers that version of the story and if you ask Dominique about meeting Cody on a ropes course she says “He wasn’t even on my radar.”
Oh no, but it couldn’t have been that easy.

Just friends who ate every single meal together.
Just friends who stayed up well past 3AM talking.
Just friends who spent every moment together.
And it was true, we really were just friends until we weren’t*
After two years of friendship, studying abroad in Paris brought us together. Something about the wine, cheese, weekend trips to Nice and Strasbourg, made us realize we were much closer to soulmates than just friends.
Five years later…Charleston
We celebrated our fifth anniversary in Charleston, SC and loved every minute of it. Charleston indulged our bon vivant sensibilities with a dash of southern charm. We were infatuated with the food scene, the antebellum mansions, and the cobblestone streets.

Six years later…The Proposal
Cody finally popped the question on December 16, 2019. Dominique knew he’d propose at some point in 2019, but she didn’t anticipate he would wait until the last month of the year. Cody disguised the proposal as Dominique’s Birthday dinner. He took her out to The Whitby Hotel in New York and just as we were finishing up dessert Cody slid Dominique’s birthday card across the table and got down on one knee. Clearly she said yes, albeit it took a few moments to find the words and put the ring on.
